Think you’re not creative or artistic? Yes, You absolutely are! In this this class I will show you how to find your creative artistic streak and help it thrive while having a lot of fun!
Jump in and kickstart your artistic expression by making lots of fun art on your terms … explore color, collage, textures and the freedom of creativity without thinking about the rules, the outcome, fear of messing up, your level of experience or judgment (even your own!). This is a A Sketchbook and Art Journal creating session all rolled into one. Let’s start together to make a book of your own as a place to create.
This 3 hour class is about the JOY of making art for YOU; making messes, trying new things and letting your artistic vibes come through so you’ll want to keep creating and have the confidence to do so. Its about breaking down the barriers to making art so you can see there IS time, Messy is GOOD, you ARE creative and you don’t need all the right stuff to make art that is beautiful and more importantly- feels good!
In this workshop, here’s what to expect:
-All materials included. You’ll receive a book of your choice to work in and use of all kinds of art materials I’ve gathered for you. Some tools will surprise you and some will be more traditional.
-I’ll guide you through creating a small kit of your own that is accessible easily and quickly so you can continue to create in your space and even right at your own kitchen table.
-You’ll learn tips to inspire yourself and overcome the blank page fear of where to start. You’ll be able to work freely without fear of messing up.
-We’ll explore a wide range of mixed media techniques including collage, paint, drawing, botanical prints, lettering and more.
-You’ll leave with 3-4 complete sketchbook spreads, ideas and step by step guidance of how to get from start to finish. You can follow along or use these as inspiration for your own ideas.
-Also included will be ideas on how to let nature and your immediate environment inspire you as the seasons and our lives change. You’ll be surprised what you can see when you slow down.
The workshop will be 3 hours of instruction, example, creating and making in my newly renovated and completed home teaching studio. There is plenty of ventilation with the roll up door.
All you need to bring is yourself and your imagination! Ready to get started?
