Shipping Policy

HOW IS MY ARTWORK SHIPPED?

Most artwork will ship via USPS, UPS or FEDEX. All artwork ships out within 2-3 business days of purchase for standard shipping and most packages (domestic) arrive within 2-4 days of time of shipping. Tracking and insurance are included and the tracking number will be emailed to you once the package is received by the carrier.

Please see oversized and international shipping for details as this process will take a bit longer, OR if you would like expedited shipping, please contact me for pricing.

All artwork is packaged beautifully in paper and/or a plastic sleeve with the utmost of care to ensure your beautiful art arrives safely and as described. Canvas artwork is padded or protected extremely well, and sent in a well-fitting sturdy cardboard box.

Artwork larger than 45 inches is sent un-stretched and rolled safely in a sturdy tube. You can then take it to your local framer to build the support bars and stretch the canvas. This usually costs between $125-220 depending on the size and location. I am happy to work with them during the re-stretching process, just have them get in touch with me.

If you prefer to ship your large painting fully stretched I will work with a freight service to expertly handle the painting and deliver it right to your living room ($250-500), contact me.

Paper artwork and prints are mailed in a sturdy flat mailer, Shipped via USPS 1st Class Mail or Priority Mail (usually arrives within 1-3 days within the US after shipping).

Shipping costs cover a percentage of the fees, packaging supplies, time, labor, and storage. I cover a standard portion and the rest is what you see charged at check out.

CAN I PICK UP MY ARTWORK FROM YOUR STUDIO?

Absolutely! I love studios visits! You can pick up your original artwork in person at my studio in Santa Cruz, CA. Use the code "StudioPickup" at checkout to skip shipping and we will schedule a time a time in the studio via email. Please contact me to set up a time.

WHAT ARE THE STANDARD SHIPPING COSTS?

Tiered flat rate shipping- domestic within the US

Shipping of Artwork and merchandise will be a flat fee based on size with USPS priority mail or similar. (Large & Oversized items shipped ground and / or may require additional freight)*

Paper Artwork (unframed) and gift shop items:

  • Up to 9 x 12” flat parcel, envelope or small box ….. $4

  • Paper artwork over 9 x 12” and under 18 x 24” will ship in flat mailer or as possible rolled and shipped in a tube…..$9

  • Paper Artwork 18 x 24” and under 20 x 27” will ship in flat mailer and or as possible rolled and shipped in a tube….. $18

  • Gift items will be shipped in an appropriately sized small mailer or box …..$4

Canvas Artwork, Stretched and Ready to Hang:

  • Up to 8 x 12” priority box….$9

  • Between 9 x 12” up to 16 x 20” in priority box or standard box …..$18

  • Between 18 x 24”” to 20 x 24” in box…..$40

  • Between 24 x 31” to 36 x 36” in box ….. $120

However, If you prefer to ship your large painting (ie 20 x 60”, 37 x 37”, 36 x 48”, etc) fully stretched and ready to hang, I will work with a freight service to expertly handle the painting and deliver it right to your living room ($200-500). PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR ARRANGEMENTS. You will be charged a minimal shipping fee upon check out with an additional shipping invoice billed to you prior to shipping. You will receive an email from me letting you know the actual cost and balance to be paid prior to shipping the artwork out. This is just the way shippers handle oversized items. USPS will not ship anything oversized so alternate freight shipping will be secured. If you’d like to get the shipping rate ahead of purchasing the artwork, please contact me with your postal code and desired art piece and I’ll be happy to to email you with the freight/shipping costs.

INTERNATIONAL shipping

International shipping is available. You will be charged the listed minimum amount USD at check out and then you will receive an additional shipping invoice billed to you based on your specific postal code and size of art to be shipped. Your art will ship out within 2-3 business days US once the shipping balance has been paid.

Shipping costs are calculated based on package size, weight and distance. That being said, International packages are a bit outside of my control. Border fees, duties, and handling fees may be charged by other countries. If there is any discrepancy -/+ we will let you know via email. Tracking is also quite unreliable with international shipments, but I have had quite good success.

If you’d like to get the shipping rate ahead of time, please contact me with your postal code and desired art piece and I’ll be happy to to email you with the shipping cost. International shipments will be sent via USPS or other carrier.

 

Return Policy

Original Artwork:
It is very important to me that you are 100% satisfied with your purchase, after all my goal is to bring you joy! Every piece is handled with care and as much openness & transparency as possible. However, if you feel unhappy with your purchase I offer a full refund (minus full and actual cost of shipping) within 7 days of receipt. Artwork must be returned in the original condition in which it was received and in the same packaging. (Commissioned works are subject to a different policy, please see COMMISSION FAQs and sample contract).

Fine Art Prints and Printed Merchandise: 
Fine Art Prints are made to order from a 3rd party fine art printing company. I have personally checked and reviewed numerous samples and engaged this company for their excellence and high standards to ensure you are getting a quality replica of the original work. Other print merchandise is made to equal quality standards according to the material substrate. The return policy is not under my control and as such all purchases are beholden to the print company’s return policies.

Workshops & Classes:

Online and digital Workshops & Classes are downloadable and thus not subject to refund. If you are unable to make a live online event, a link will be emailed to you for the video replay for the time specified in the Workshop or Class Description.

In Person Workshops: 
Workshop cancellations are accepted only with 96 hours notice ahead of the START of the scheduled workshop, course series or classes. You will be issued a credit only, applicable to another Whitney Design Studios event. If a series of workshops was purchased and you missed part of the series, no credit will be issued. Substitutions of attendee will be considered only on a case by case basis for single in person workshops and/or classes.
